Niconico Chokaigi
Niconico Chokaigi, held annually in April at Makuhari Messe, is a large-scale event
that began in 2012 with the concept of “reproducing Niconico’s virtual world in real life”. The event combines various internet culture from past and present with physical events and attracts over 170 thousand visitors.Cho Kabuki
Cho Kabuki, which began in 2016, is a multi-award winning stage performance jointly produced by Shochiku and Dwango. Starred by the famous kabuki actor Shidō Nakamura and the virtual singer Hatsune Miku, the show fuses traditional Japanese entertainment with cutting-edge technology. The show is held at Niconico Chokaigi and Minamiza Theatre.
Niconico Machikaigi
Niconico Machikaigi, which began in 2012, is a spin-off event for Niconico Chokaigi. With the concept of “meeting Niconico users around Japan”, the event fuses together local Japanese festivals and user participatory activities. As of current date, Niconico Machikaigi has been held in approximately 100 towns across Japan.
Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival
Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival, which takes place on the streets east of Ikebukuro station in Tokyo, is Japan’s largest Halloween event that attracts over 20 thousand cosplayers. One of the major features of this event is that cosplayers can roam around the streets dressed in their costumes and enjoy shopping/eating at designated stores.
The VOCALOID Collection
The VOCALOID Collection is an online festival dedicated to Vocaloid culture which has become a spotlight in the music industry. All those involved in the Vocaloid scene, which includes creators such as Vocaloid P, listeners and corporations can take part in this festivity. During the event period, over 2,600 Vocaloid related videos/songs were posted on Niconico.
Danmas World
Danmas World is a dance festival with the theme of “to everyone who loves to dance”. Odorite (dancers) that are active in various platforms such as Niconico, SNS and dancing professional league will all gather under one roof to form a comprehensive dance event.
Animelo Summer Live
Animelo Summer Live, also known as Anisama, first started in 2005 and is currently the world’s largest anime song event that attracts over 80 thousand visitors during the 3-day event.
The festivity, held annually during summer, is a meeting ground for anime song artists from various record companies and bridges together fans and artists.Cho Seiyusai
Cho Seiyusai is Japan’s largest event dedicated to voice actors/actresses that drew a total of 2.6 million online viewers. The event offers live-streaming shows where voice actors/actresses take the center stage and interact with various guests - these include manga artists, VTubers and celebrities from different genres.
